The Wisconsin Towns Association provides grassroots legislative advocacy that supports town government and citizens. Prior to the start of every legislative session, the Wisconsin Towns Association, in conjunction with the Town Advocacy Council (TAC), holds listening sessions with town leaders to gather ideas for pursuing legislation. The TAC executive committee considers the information and creates a recommended list of priorities for the WTA/TAC lobbying team. The recommendations then go to the WTA board for consideration and eventual approval. Once approved, the lobbying team attempts to influence legislators into developing bills that hopefully make their way into law. Below you will find a link to the WTA legislative priorities that were crafted prior to the start of the current legislative session. Due to the dynamic nature of a legislative session, other priorities are frequently added throughout the session.
